Taksimo

Taksimo (Russian Таксимо ) is an urban-type settlement and administrative center of the Rajons Muiski the Republic of Buryatia (Russia). The town has 9438 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

Taksimo is the Muisker level in the outer north-east of the Buryat Republic on the river Muja about 400 kilometers east of Sewerobaikalsk.

History

Since 1863, settled in the area of Muisker level Buryats, who had immigrated from the Chara zone, as previously Evenki. The name comes from the Taksimo Evenki language and means cup or bowl, possibly because the place is like in a shell between the Northern ( Seweromuisker ) and the Southern Mujagebirge ( Juschnomuisker Mountains).

Taksimo arose as a settlement of a fugitive exiles, Ivan Alexeyevich Barantschejew, who defected during the unrest in the Lena - mining area in 1905 from the settlement Kirensk, the river Vitim walking up and in 1910 settled in this place. The hermitage of Ivan Barantschejew evolved over time to Ausspanne for merchants with horse-drawn carts, but only from 1920, settled other families. 1920, therefore, is considered the founding year of Taksimo. Around 1934 the population of the Muisker level exceeded 1,500 people.

In connection with the construction of the Baikal - Amur Mainline (BAM ) is Taksimo developed for urban-type settlement ( the status was awarded in 1981 ). With the start of regular rail operations on the BAM - section Sewerobaikalsk Taksimo Rajon Muiski 1989 became independent and Taksimo to its administrative headquarters.

Economy

To a modest extent ( gold mining ) can be operated in the area timber industry and mining. The economic importance of the site Taksimo itself consists in his important station on the Baikal - Amur Mainline ( 1469 kilometer ). Here ends the coming of the West electrification of the line.
