TAM Cargo

TAM Cargo (formerly ABSA - Aerolinhas Brasileiras SA) is a Brazilian cargo airline based in the hinterland city of Campinas, state of São Paulo and based on the Viracopos airport. TAM Cargo serves primarily the cargo market between Latin America and the USA.

The airline was established in 1996 as Brasil Transair - Transportes Charter Turismo founded. 2001 acquired the Chilean LAN Airlines a majority stake. After completed in August 2012 merger between LAN and TAM Linhas Aéreas of Brazil for LATAM Airlines Group, which was practically constituted a takeover by LAN they incorporated as TAM Cargo administratively in the TAM.
