Tarabuco Municipality

The municipality Tarabuco is a district in the department of Chuquisaca in the South American Andes State of Bolivia.

The municipality Tarabuco is one of two Municipalities of the province Yamparáez and comprises the eastern half. It is bordered on the northwest by the Province Oropeza, on the west by the municipality of Yamparáez, on the southwest by the Potosí Department, and to the southeast and east by the province Jaime Zudañez.

The municipality extends approximately between 18 ° 52 'and 19 ° 22' south latitude and 64 ° 44 ' and 65 ° 05 ' west longitude, its extension from west to east is up to 30 kilometers from north to south, up to 45 km.

The municipality comprises 154 municipalities ( Localidades ), central location of the municipality is the town with 2,442 inhabitants Tarabuco ( 2001 census ) in the western part of the county.

Geography

The municipality is located in Tarabuco ridge of the Bolivian Cordillera Central, between the Altiplano in the west and the Bolivian lowlands to the east. The climate is cool temperate mountain climate with typical diurnal climate where the temperature differences during the day fluctuate more than the year.
