TCL Corporation

TCL (since 2007 stands for The Creative Life; earlier Today China Lion, Chinese今日 中国 雄狮; official name of TCL Group, Chinese TCL集团) is a group in the People's Republic of China, the products of the entertainment, household and telecommunications electronics manufacturing. The head office of this international company is located in the sub- provincial city and Shenzhen Special Economic Zone. TCL is also the largest manufacturer of televisions worldwide.

TCL is on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange ( SZSE: 000100 ) and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange as TCL Corporation and TCL International Holdings ( SEHK 1070) noted.

History

Established in 1981, TCL began his career as a manufacturer of audio and video cassettes. The formerly state-owned company developed in the 1990s - after full privatization by foreign investors - fast becoming one of the fastest growing companies in the world. Its average growth rate was 42.56 % in the last twelve years. As a result of the Asian crisis in 1997, the company suffered huge revenue losses. Li Dongsheng, Chairman of the Board since 1996, decided to make the Group in the future on the international market competitive. Even before the turn of the century, TCL successfully placed with avant-garde and technologically advanced products on the world market for electronics. Today, the brand name TCL is worth 3.5 billion U.S. dollars.

Meanwhile, TCL employs more than 50,000 employees in more than 80 global offices and factories, including 18 R & D centers, 20 manufacturing facilities and more than 40 sales offices. In addition, TCL operates more than 40,000 retail outlets worldwide. Li Dongsheng tried from 2000 and after establishing itself as a provider of a global company through acquisitions of foreign companies. So TCL 2002 took over the insolvent Schneider works from Germany and 2004, the television production division of Thomson from France, with the TCL then as the largest TV manufacturer in the world was. In August 2004, TCL agreed a joint venture with the French telecommunications company Alcatel, TCL & Alcatel Mobile Phones Ltd.. (in short: TAMP ). The community was one of 55% of the TCL. In May 2005, followed by a ten-year license agreement, so TAMP a wholly owned subsidiary of TCL was. TAMP was renamed TCT Mobile Limited. The company sells worldwide through subsidiaries ( Germany: TCT Mobile Germany GmbH ) Mobile phones under the name " Alcatel One Touch".

According to the company Li Dongsheng is sticking to a strategy through which he wants to make TCL a " Chinese Sony or Samsung ."

Since June 2012 IKEA offers in cooperation with TCL to own televisions.
