Tech (river)

The Tech (in Catalan Tec ) is a river in southern France, which runs in the Languedoc- Roussillon region in the department of Pyrénées- Orientales. It rises in the Pyrenees, near the Spanish border, on the southeast flank of the summit Roc Colom ( 2507 m), in the municipality of Prats -de- Mollo -la- Preste. The Tech dehydrated generally in a northeasterly direction, initially through the countryside of the Haut Vallespir, later by the Roussillon level and leads after 84 km in the municipality of Argelès -sur -Mer in the Mediterranean Sea. In the lower reaches of the river is obstructed by many impoundments and water discharges. The mouth is located in the Natural Reserve of Mas Larrieu.

In Ceret the river flows forth under the medieval Devil's Bridge, which was with a span of 45 meters once the world's largest bridge.
