Palau-del-Vidre
Palau -del- Vidre (Catalan Palau del Vidre ) is a commune with 2950 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Pyrénées- Orientales of the Languedoc -Roussillon region. It belongs to the district Ceret and the Canton of Argelès- sur -Mer. The village lies in the valley of the river Tech.
Palau -del- Vidre is known for its glass blowers who are resident there since the Middle Ages. The Catalan city name is derived from the tradition of glassblowing. Every August it in place instead of the international festival " Les Arts du Verre ", arriving to the glass artists from all over Europe.
