Ted de Corsia

Ted de Corsia ( born September 29, 1905 in Brooklyn, New York City; † 11 April 1973 in Encino, California, in fact Edward De Corsia Gildea ) was an American actor.

Life

Ted de Corsia was born in 1905 as the only child of vaudeville artist Edward De Corsia and Helen Le Sage in Brooklyn. Because the profession of his parents his childhood of numerous parades and school change was marked. At the age of six he was on stage for the first time. While he attended the New York Evening High School and studied at New York University, he earned as a plumber, electrician and sellers something. At times, he also worked as a cook. After that, he was with his distinctive voice at first mainly as an actor for radio active. In 1947, he was next to Rita Hayworth and Orson Welles in the film noir The Lady from Shanghai ( The Lady from Shanghai) made ​​his screen debut. His marriage to his first wife, Mary Robertson ended in 1935 in divorce. With his second wife Rachel Thurber, whom he married in 1939, de Corsia had two daughters. He died in 1973 at the age of 67 in Encino, California.
