Ted Wilde

Ted Wilde ( born December 16, 1889 in New York City; † December 17, 1929 in Hollywood, California ) was an American film director and screenwriter.

Life

Wilde was a close friend of the silent film star Harold Lloyd, for whom he wrote several screenplays and numerous film skits. In addition, he has directed two films in which Lloyd played the lead role: The Kid Brother, and Speedy from 1927 of 1928 For the latter he received an Oscar nomination as Best Director. . His career ended abruptly when he died one day after his 40th birthday at the effects of a stroke in 1929. His grave is at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale ( California).
