Teemu Pulkkinen

Teemu Pulkkinen (* January 2, 1992 in Vantaa ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player standing since 2012 with the Detroit Red Wings under contract since April 2013 for the Grand Rapids Griffins play in the American Hockey League.

Career

Teemu Pulkkinen began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of Jokerit Helsinki, with its U18 juniors he participated in the Jr. B SM- sarja in the 2007/ 08 season and was at the end of the season Finnish champion. He was also top scorer in the league with 23 goals. during the following season he continued to play for the U18 and U20 juniors of the club, before he made his debut in the SM- liiga for the first team Jokerit. In three games, he remained no points and received six penalty minutes. In the following season he scored in twelve games his first three points scorer, including a goal in professional hockey for Jokerit. He was then in the fourth round as a total of 111 players selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2010 by the Detroit Red Wings, after he had already been selected in the 2009 Junior KHL Draft from HC Dinamo Minsk.

End of May 2012 Pulkkinen was awarded a NHL entry-level contract by the Red Wings, but was initially loaned to Jokerit. In April 2013, the Red Wings brought him then to North America and put him in the Grand Rapids Griffins in the American Hockey League.

Internationally

For Finland Pulkkinen took part in the U18 World Junior Championships in 2009 and 2010. In both tournaments he won the bronze medal with his team. Previously, he was a member from 2007 to the Under-17 national team of Finland and participated with this in international tournaments.
