Temora, New South Wales

Temora is a town in New South Wales, Australia. The town of about 4100 inhabitants, is located about 80 km north of Wagga Wagga in the Riverina region agriculture.

Temora was founded in 1879 during a gold rush in the 1880s, it had up to 20,000 inhabitants. Since 1891 there is a separate municipality. At the beginning of the 20th century, many German immigrants came to Temora.

The place is a railway junction and commercial center for agricultural products (wheat) and livestock (cattle, sheep). There are in the town of an agricultural and construction materials industries.

Temora is center and administrative headquarters of the local administrative area Temora Shire.
