Tenet (Band)

Tenet is a heavy metal band, which as a side project by Jed Simon ( Strapping Young Lad ( SYL ) ) and Gene Hoglan (of Zimmers Hole ( ZH) ) was founded.

History

Tenet was originally founded in the summer of 1996. Together with Steve Wheeler (at the time drummer for ZH) they started to record their ideas as a demo tapes, but all continued to play in their actual bands. Tenet was initially only a side project and apart from some loose jam sessions the band did hardly anything. As Jed 1997 the guitarist Glen Alvelais ( formerly of Forbidden ) met when SYL toured with Testament, Jed asked him if he wanted to get even with Tenet not with what Glen promised to participate.

After a deal with Century Media Records was drafted, Jed began to work on " Sovereign ", along with bassist Byron Stroud ( played with Fear Factory, SYL and ZH), and drummer Adrian Erlandsson ( who played for At The Gates, the Haunted, Cradle Of Filth, Paradise Lost), this however could not invest enough time into the project and the album due to large spatial distances to the other and other difficulties. Therefore, Jed again turned to Gene Hoglan to win it for the album as a drummer. But the band was still missing a singer who was finally, after a few test shots in Steve " Zetro " Souza ( Exodus ) found. This proved to be the perfect singer for the album, as he immediately gave the band the "classic " metal feel, after Jed was looking for.

Jed flew twice quickly in the Bay Area to manage the vocal recordings with Zetro and mix later the album along with Vincent Wojno. Finally, Andy Sneap took over the mastering of Sovereign and the design of the cover was taken by Travis Smith.

The album Sovereign was finally released after many years of full -backs and various delays on July 20, 2009 in Europe and on August 11, 2009 in the United States. The album received a lot of positive criticism.
