Test Drive Unlimited

With Test Drive Unlimited Atari tried to implement the genre of MMOG (Massively Multiplayer Online Game ) for racing games. Therefore, the developers created the term MOOR ( Massively Open Online Racing). Eden Games has about 1,600 kilometers of roads and the environment of the island of Oahu in the Hawaiian archipelago realistic simulation.

The game was released for the Xbox 360, PSP, PS2 and PC, which are not different versions for PS2 and PSP in circumference. In total there are 91 vehicles: motorcycles including all classes, classic cars like the Pontiac Firebird, production car, for example, such as the Audi TT Quattro Sport and super sports cars such as Ferrari Enzo Ferrari, Saleen S7, McLaren GTR F1/F1. In addition there are many, particularly American concept cars, such as the Chrysler Me Four-Twelve. With a premium Carpack in April 2008, 45 more cars and another motorcycle ( Kawasaki Ninja ZX -12R ) have been added, including several vehicles of the German car manufacturer RUF Automobile, whose vehicles are based on different vehicles from Porsche.

The servers for the multiplayer mode have been shut down on September 28, 2012 11:00 CEST. Because there is no freely available server, only the offline mode remains with significantly fewer races.

Test Drive Unlimited 2

Test Drive Unlimited 2 is the sequel to Test Drive Unlimited, published in 2011. There are 101 cars available, including many well-known manufacturers such as Aston Martin, RUF and Gumpert. Test Drive Unlimited 2 is set in the initial phase on the Balearic island of Ibiza, with about 930 miles and later in the game is also on the already known from Test Drive Unlimited island of Oahu, with about 2200 km. Other new features include eg one day - night cycles ( 24 or 2.5 h), as well as a dynamic weather system. Furthermore, it was easier in this MMORPG of the contact between individual players. The player has the opportunity to occur, for example in ( fee-based ) casino DLC with other players in contact.

As of 2011, there were quarrels between closing and the Atari development studio Eden Games, which affected the game support. This was partially offset by the user community on the development of fan- patches, which thus remaining problems and shortcomings even try to fix.
