Teti'aroa

Tetiaroa is a 42 km north of Tahiti atoll located in the Pacific, consisting of 13 individual islands, which are grouped around the lagoon. The total land area of the atoll is approximately 6 km ². It is geographically part of the Leeward Islands (French: Îles du Vent) of the Society Islands, administratively it belongs to French Polynesia and there to the community Arue Tahiti. The village of the same name and an airstrip are located in the northeast of the island Onetahi.

1904 bequeathed the royal family of Tahiti, the island of the dentist Johnston Walter Williams. Until 1965, joined the private island a few times the owner. This year, after completing the shooting of the film Mutiny on the Bounty, Marlon Brando leased the island for 99 years by their owner.
