Teufelsteich

The Devil pond is an old storage pond in the resin. The dammed waters are the devil Grundbach and the Seven Grundbach. An additional drain was the opening into the silver Hütter surcharge ditch Prince Victor- art trench.

Description

He was at Harzgerode and Quedlinburg (Saxony- Anhalt) built in 1697 as an artificial pond for mining. 1837/38 he was raised for the silver mining industry.

Connection to the Lower Harz Pond and grave system received the devil pond until 1903 /04 release. The silver Hütter Art trench was last extended and now he ended up in the catchment area of the devil pond, the seven basic. The extension was given to the names Seven founder ditch, at the same time the section was drained to Neudorf. In addition to the devil pond, also the prince of the pond and silver Hütter Pochwerksteich now were additionally supplied with water from the Lude and Rödel Bach.

In 1947 the pond for drinking water supply is used. 1985 had to be completely renewed the dam. This 30 m was built a new dam according to the prior art below the old dam and the old removed.

The new, higher dam consists of a supporting body of slate and a clay core in the middle. The storage space was larger by the new building to 203,000 m³. The dam now has new operating facilities such as a spillway, a bottom outlet, an intake tower with control dock, a valve house and a pumping station.

Flora

At the Devil Pond Shield water crowfoot, White bentgrass, Common Bulrush, Grey-green Fireweed, Lawn Rush and Florentine hawkweed were detected. In addition, Dotted Loosestrife on the road east of the devil pond, horse alfalfa on a roadside near the pond, Brown Moor Clover on the least Pond fallow meadow, Real -vetch, a east of the pond located wayside, Hoary Ragwort in a spruce young growth corridor on the north bank Eschenblättriger maple on a dirt road east of Devil's pond and Pannonian changing to a wasteland north-east of the pond. Here in 1999 was the first evidence in resin inside for the Pannonian Wicke.
