Thai Smile ( Thai: การบินไทย ส มา ย ล์ ) is a Thai low-cost airline based in Bangkok and base at the airport Suvarnabhumi. It is a subsidiary of Thai Airways International.

History

Thai Airways International was founded with Tiger Airways on August 2, 2010, a joint venture under the name of Thai Tiger. After the Thai government, however, until August 2011 issued a license for the new airline, they gave in September 2011 that Thai Airways has abandoned the joint venture with Tiger Airways. Instead brought Thai Airways in Summer 2012 Thai Smile to the market. Thai Smile is after the subsidiary Nok Air, the second cheap brand of Thai Airways. On January 18, 2013 Thai Airways announced that Thai Smile will operate after the approval of the Senate as an independent airline, under the name Thai Smile Airways Company Limited. The share capital of Thai Smile Airways is 1.8 billion baht. Thai Airways continues to hold 100 % of Thai Smile.

Destinations

Thai Smile currently flies from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, Krabi, Phuket, Surat Thani, Ubon Ratchathani and Udon Thani as well as the first international goal to Macau and from Phuket to Chang May

As of March 31, 2013 more international routes were added, including: Mandalay, Kuala Lumpur, Ahmedabad, New Delhi and Mumbai.
