The Crazy World of Arthur Brown

The Crazy World of Arthur Brown was a British psychedelic rock band around the singer Arthur Brown, who with their hit Fire in 1968 had a single large commercial success. The single reached # 3 Fire the official German singles chart, spending ten weeks in the top 10 The album "Crazy World of Arthur Brown " reached # 7 on the Billboard Music Charts.

Band History

Arthur Brown sang earlier in groups like Blues And Brown, South West Five, Arthur Brown Union and Arthur Brown set. In 1967 he founded with Vincent Crane The Crazy World of Arthur Brown, who quickly found specifically in the underground audience fans.

1968 succeeded the hit Fire. The song was one of the so-called one- hit wonders in the UK and in the U.S. in the 1960s. The first album is considered a classic of psychedelic rock music of the late 1960s. It includes cover versions of tracks by Screamin 'Jay Hawkins and James Brown. The original song Fire was an international bestseller as a single release.

The cast broke up practically on during the U.S. tour in 1969. Vincent Crane and Carl Palmer left the band to form Atomic Rooster. Nick Greenwood joined the band Khan ( as Nicholas Greenwood ), Theaker to Love and then Rustic Hinge and ultimately to founded Brown Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come. He could also be heard on the first album by Alan Parsons as a singer.

In 2000, Brown The Crazy World of Arthur Brown reanimated with a number of young musicians. In the fall of 2013 he went into this lineup on a week-long tour of Germany.
