The Crying Spell

The Crying Spell is an American synth rock band, founded in 2006 by the singer Len Hotrum, guitarist Eric Snyder, drummer Chase Culp and bassist Johnny Bacolas in Seattle, Washington. The band calls their modern New Wave music style " Modwave ".

History

Hotrum and Culp played previously in a band called Point One, Snyder and Bacolas at Second Coming. After the occupation by the second guitarist Dane Brooks was completed, published The Crying Spell in July 2008 under its own power it strongly influenced by the 1980 debut album Through Hell to Heaven, which was available through their website, iTunes and Amazon. They also played their first concert in the same year. A year later left Bacolas The Crying Spell to pursue other activities and was then replaced by Jason Phraner.

In early 2012, the band released their second album Disgraceland, but this was only sold during the two-month European tour as the opening act of the British post-punk band Killing Joke. Shortly after the release of keyboardist Kevin Preston ( also a member of Endless Sunder ) was added to the band. In October 2012 The Crying Spell played in the opening act of the California Electronic rock band Julien -K ( which was founded by two former members of the industrial rock band Orgy ) at their Germany tour.

In 2013, bassist Jason Phraner left the band, who graduated at this time to work on her latest album entitled Spectrum of Light. According to statements of the band, the album is characterized by a stronger '80s new-wave vibe.
