The Dirty Heads

The Dirty Heads is an American reggae - rock band from Orange County ( California). Their debut album, Any Port in a Storm was released on September 23, 2008 under Executive Music Group ( Fontana / Universal).

Biography

The band was founded in 1996 by Jared Watson and his friend Dustin " Duddy " Bushnell in Huntington Beach in Orange County ( California). The two met in their first year meet at the high school at a party and met from then on for jamming, surfing and skating. As Watson heard a recorded by Dustin rap tape, he came up with the idea to work together with the already active in a punk band Bushnell. Although he has never sung live, written a song or a band, he decided to give a chance to the project. Later, Jon Olazabal ( percussion ), Matt Ochoa (drums) and David Foral ( bass) were added and formed the band's style. In the name they came, as they stole alcohol from a store and the owner calling after them, " Come here you little dirty heads! ". Rob Cavallo (producer of, among other things Green Day and My Chemical Romance ) The Dirty Heads brought eventually to Warner Bros., but due to differences those left the label soon, took the shots for Any Port in a Storm but with.

Shortly thereafter, she joined forces with producers Steve Fox and Stan Frazier. On the album Any Port in a Storm one of the last performances of Beatles collaborator Billy Preston, as well as performances by Josh Freese ( Nine Inch Nails, Korn), Alex Acuna ( percussion ), the Jamaican dancehall legend Tippa Ire and Indie contains 103.1 reggae host Native Wayne ( on "Neighbourhood " and " stand Tall "). The Dirty Heads have toured with, among others, 311, Pepper, Kottonmouth Kings, Matisyahu and Sublime with Rome. They were also part of marketing campaigns of Etnies and Vestal Watches Company.
