The Lakes is a settlement on community- free area ( " Unincorporated Community " ) in Murray County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. For statistical purposes, the place has been combined to form a census-designated place (CDP). In 2010, The Lakes had 667 inhabitants.

Geography

The Lakes is located in southwestern Minnesota around Lake Shetek and Lake Shetek State Park. The geographical coordinates are 44 ° 08'18 " north latitude and 95 ° 39'55 " west longitude. The site covers 112.3 km ², spread to 87.4 km ² land and 24.9 km ² water surface.
