Last of the High Kings ( The Last of the High Kings, Summer Fling ) is a Danish- Irish- British drama of David Keating from the year 1996. It is a film adaptation of a novel by Ferdia McCall.
The film was shot in Ireland, Canada and Seattle.
Action
Frankie Griffin is seventeen years old in 1977. He just finished school, but is worried that he's failed the final exam.
In the period in which he is awaiting the results, visited him the US-American Erin. She falls in love with him. However, Griffin finds two attractive girls from his school; from the American travels.
Griffin learns that he has passed the test. He meets with a Protestant girlfriend with his Catholic mother had first concerns. At the end will be honored with a party of the recently deceased Elvis Presley.
Reviews
Brian Webster wrote in Apollo Guide that Jared Leto his role " discreet " ( " understated " ) and "convincing" ( " convincing" ) games. The his parents playing Gabriel Byrne and Catherine O'Hara were not nearly believable ( "are not nearly as believable "). While O'Hara with her portrayal " irritate " the character played by Byrne was " insignificant " ( " insignificant ").

The film received in 1997 at the Emden International Film Festival in second place.
