The Mob Doctor
The Mob Doctor is an American television series about a doctor who works for the Mafia in Chicago to settle the debts of her brother. The series is based on the novel Il Dottore: The Double Life of a Mafia Doctor by Ron Felber. The first broadcast took place on September 17, 2012 in Fox, while the German -speaking Original Air Date was on the pay - TV channel Sony Entertainment Television on April 22, 2013.
Action
The young surgeon Grace Devlin is one of the best heart surgeons in Chicago. But no one suspects that she leads a secret double life as a doctor for the local mafia to Constantine Alexander. This life leads them to pay the gambling debts of her brother Nate. She works during the day in the clinic and at night they wont gunshot wounds. Grace is therefore plagued by conflicts of conscience and must keep secret her double life before her boyfriend Brett and her college.

In the U.S., The Mob Doctor was broadcast by Fox. The first and only season ran from September 17, 2012, and January 7, 2013. The series was already running for the premiere only mediocre, and lost in the following weeks, many viewers, so that in the end only a meager 3.27 million viewers and a rating of 0.9 in the target group of 18 - to 49 -year-olds remained.
In November 2012, the station was due to low ratings, the setting of the series after the 13 episodes known.
In Germany, the series was erstausgestrahlt on the pay- TV channel Sony Entertainment Television between 22 April and 6 June 2013. The free-TV rights to the series of the TV station has secured sixx. A specific broadcast date is not yet known.
In Austria, ORF radiates one of the series since 20 January 2014.
