The Nightly Disease is the second album by the Norwegian band Madrugada. It was recorded from August to October 2000 in the Water Music Recorders Studios in Hoboken near New York City. It was produced by the band together with John Agnello, who had already worked on the debut album Industrial Silence of the band as a sound mixer. The album rose as its predecessor at number one in the Norwegian album charts.

Genesis

After the release of their first album Industrial Silence 1999, the band went on Norway and European tour. Here some pieces of the new album already incurred. In the summer / fall of 2000 was then begonngen with the work on the successor. The shooting began on 21 August 2000 and lasted eight weeks, although the original six weeks were planned. On the recordings had with the American slide guitarist Eric Heywood, and the American singer Siobhan Duffy for some pieces. The mixing of the album also took longer than planned. A first version proved to be too weak, so the band toured again in November 2000 to Hoboken to find Agnello with a mix in which mainly Sivert Høyems voice was powerful brought to bear. The mastering was performed in January 2001 at Sterling Sound Studio in New York by Greg Calbi.

Deluxe Edition 2011

Greg Calbi, the "Senior Mastering Engineer" Sterling Sound Studios took over 10 years later smoke the remastering of the Deluxe Edition; He had done in 2010 already for the deluxe edition of the album Industrial Silence same. As with the previous album more previously released on EPs and B-sides pieces have been published on the second CD. Due to the wealth of material three additional pieces were already pushed on CD 1 behind the regular album. The play The Lost Gospel was first published in 2005 on the album The Deep End in a new version. Among the titles on CD 2 by, while two cover versions of Neil Young and Lee Hazlewood, each of which was originally recorded for tribute albums of these composers.
