The Slow Club

The Slow Club was a band project of the Austrian musician Hansi Lang, Thomas Rabitsch and Wolfgang Schlögl. As a live member occurred also the guitarist Andy Bartosh. The music of Slow Club was characterized by the fusion of jazz and electronic music gesangsbetontem.

Band History

With Hansi Lang, ( games I live, Montevideo, Josefine, No Fear! ) As lead singer of the Hallucination Company and as a solo artist for many years one of the most popular singers from Austria, was Thomas Rabitsch, founding member of the Hallucination Company and as a musician and producer in numerous bands involved (including with Drahdiwaberl, Falco, Harri Stojka ), and Wolfgang " I- Wolf" Schlögl ( sofa Surfers ) came three savvy and has long been well-known musicians in the Slow Club together.

The first productions of Slow Club, Welcome to the Slow Club (2004) and This Is the Slow Club (2005), consisted of cover versions and interpretations of pieces from the Great American Songbook ( Hoagy Carmichael's Stardust, George Gershwin's Embraceable You, Billy Paul me and Mrs. Jones, etc.). 2006, the musicians were to go with the Amadeus Austrian Music Award for Best Jazz / folk / blues album.

Work on the second album, which consists entirely of original compositions by Lang, Rabitsch and Schlögl, lasted two years. The songs were worked out in improvisational jam sessions. Were on the recordings, besides again Andy Bartosh, numerous guest musicians involved, including Vera Böhnisch, Birgit Denk, Tini Kainrath, Netnakisum, Christian Radovan, Woody Schabata, Harri Stojka many others. Hansi Lang suffered while working in the recording studio a stroke, he died on August 24, 2008. Album The House of Sleep was released on November 7.

In the fall of 2011 Schlögl and Rabitsch presented with " Slow Club Revisited " at a time being unique live concert a continuation of the musical idea of ​​Slow Club before. The vocals took on the Viennese singer Violetta Parisini.
