The Strand Magazine

The beach Magazine was a British magazine, published monthly in London from 1891 to 1950. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries the beach Magazine was the leading literary magazine in Britain.

Note: There are two same name, American magazines, namely, The beach Magazine (1891-1916) and a new appearing since 1988 beach Magazine.

History

The beach Magazine was founded by George Newnes (1851-1910); the first issue appeared in January 1891. was the first editor in chief Herbert Greenhough Smith. The magazine published a mix of stories, articles about nature, technology and contemporary history as well as short messages about celebrities and curiosities. The great success of the beach was also based Magazine that it was one of the first modern magazine since it was made possible by new printing techniques the end of the 19th century, to reproduce photos. On each side of at least one photo or graphic was printed, often several.

An output of the beach Magazines cost sixpence. The booklet was 23.5 to 16 cm tall, and an output had about 120 pages. A total of 711 issues were printed. After the last number, which appeared in March 1950, the beach Magazine went on in the magazine Men Only.
