Théo Kerg

Théo Kerg ( born June 2, 1909 in Niederkorn, Luxembourg, † March 4, 1993 in Chissey -en- Morvan, Burgundy, France) was a Luxembourgian painter, printmaker, sculptor and glass designer.

Life

Kerg studied from 1929 to 1932 at the École supérieure des beaux -arts, and at the Sorbonne in Paris. Then Kerg student of Paul Klee and Oskar Moll was at the Düsseldorf Art Academy, which was released there in 1933. From 1934 to 1936 he was a member of the group Abstraction - Création in Paris. Kerg 1941 was appointed professor of art education at the School of Commerce and Industry in Esch- sur -Alzette. In 1957 Kerg a reputation of Werkkunstschule Kassel and worked there until 1965 as a visiting professor.

Théo Kerg was the founder of the art movement tactilism.

Since 1989 there is the Theo - Kerg Museum in Schriesheim (Baden- Württemberg). He has to leave shortly before his death, decided his work the city Schriesheim. In a permanent exhibition of the works of three stories are presented in a restored half-timbered house in the Old Town Schriesheim's.
