This Is Our Music is the third and final studio album of the American dream pop trio Galaxie 500 was released in 1990 on Rough Trade.

The title refers to an eponymous album by jazz musician Ornette Coleman.

Reception

Since the album's release, the reception of the album was quite positive; but not quite as good as the predecessor On Fire.

In Allmusic the album four and a half gets five points.

Pitchfork Media rated it mark the rerelease of Galaxie 500 discography with 8.3 of 10 points, the worst of the three albums of the band. Criticism here is that the album - in addition to some shining moments - also contains some " filler ":

Reissues

The album was re-released in 1997 by Rykodisc. As a bonus track, the Velvet Underground Cover Here She Comes Now and the music video of Fourth of July.

2010, the album was re-released again. It contained, in addition to an extra CD in 1997 released a live album Copenhagen; A replay of the last European tour in December 1990.
