Thom Pace

Thom Pace (actually Thomas Michael Pace, born January 13, 1949 in Boise, Idaho) is an American country musician.

Biography

Pace grew up in Pocatello, Idaho, on. Before he became a professional musician, he adopted 18 years of piano lessons. At first he earned his living by theater and club appearances as well as a bar pianist.

In 1974 he wrote the song Maybe that was originally intended for the movie When the Wind Blows North. In the same year he was employed as a medley Wear the Sun in Your Heart / Maybe in the film The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams and 1977, the theme song of the television series The Man in the mountains. Nevertheless, the desired success was at first; the song was not even released. Only when the series was broadcast in Europe in 1979, Thom Pace was able to place in the charts. The song Maybe increased in May 1979 to # 14 in the UK singles chart and in October 1979 it reached No. 1 on the German charts, as the series was also broadcast here. The song held for nine weeks at the top and stayed 28 weeks in the charts. Overall, Maybe has sold over one million copies. In January 1980 Pace Award Ilja Richter Disco mission with a gold record. In the same year he received the Golden Europa.

In the following decade Pace published in Europe a few plates, without being able to repeat his success. After 15 years, Pace showbiz withdrew and became a helicopter pilot. Today he held in Hawaii helicopter tours for tourists and only occurs occasionally.
