Thomas Willeboirts Bosschaert

Thomas Willeboirts (* 1614 in Bergen op Zoom, † in Antwerp in 1654, called: Bosschaert ) was a Flemish painter of historical scenes.

Willeboirts was an apprentice of Gerard Seghers in Antwerp, where he joined in 1637 the Guild of St. Luke. He was a follower of Peter Paul Rubens and Anthony van Dyck, whose works he copied many times. In his time, he was very well known. He worked for Prince Frederick Henry of Orange and Prince William II of Orange.
