Thor Freudenthal
Thor Freudenthal ( born October 20, 1972 in Berlin ) is a German screenwriter and film director primarily working in Hollywood.
Life
Thor Freudenthal was born in Berlin, where he also grew up. He attended the University of the Arts in Berlin and later moved to California as an exchange student at the California Institute of the Arts.
In the film industry Freudenthal began as a screenwriter and director on short films such as Mind the Gap, Monkey Business, and The Tenor. At Sony Pictures Imageworks, he worked on the films Stuart Little, The Chubbchubbs! and Stuart Little 2. Later he worked for The Haunted Mansion, as director of second unit at Disney. In 2005 he directed the short film Motel. In 2009, he worked as a director at Hotel for Dogs for DreamWorks Pictures. In 2010 he directed the Youth Film Gregs Tagebuch - surrounded by idiots! based on the book series by Jeff Kinney. In August 2013, the sequel to the film Percy Jackson - The Lightning Thief, Percy Jackson - The Curse of the Cyclops, appeared at the Freudenthal directed the film.
