Tian Liang (diver)

Tian Liang (Chinese田 亮, Pinyin Tianliang; born August 26, 1979 in Chongqing) is a former Chinese diver.

At eight, he was admitted to the Chongqing Sports School in 1987 and was still part of the same year to the province of choice. He was inducted into the national team in 1993. In 1994, he won his first title at the Chinese Championships in diving. In the Summer Olympics 1996, he first participated in diving and reached the fourth place. He missed a medal just barely. At the 1998 World Championships in Perth, he won the gold medal in diving and the silver medal in synchronized diving from the 10 - meter tower. Two years later he won the gold medal in diving and the silver medal in synchronized diving together with Hu Jia at the Summer Olympic Games in 2000. At the 2001 World Championships in Fukuoka, he won the gold medal in both disciplines. 2003, however, he could not repeat that success at the World Championships in Barcelona, where she won the bronze medal in both disciplines only. At the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens he won again together with Yang Jinghui in synchronous diving gold medal and the bronze medal in platform diving

On 25 March 2007, Tian Liang announced to withdraw from active sports. The withdrawal from active competition by the Chinese Olympic Committee was then confirmed on 29 July 2008, shortly before the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing.

After his playing career Tian Liang got increasingly offers from the film industry. Since April, he stands for the Chinese TV series Lei Feng in front of the camera, where it plays the eponymous lead role. In addition, Tian Liang was one of the torch runners for the Olympic Summer Games in 2008.

Tian Liang is dating the winner of the talent show " Super Girl" Ye yiqian.
