Tibet (comics)

Gilbert Gascard aka Tibet (born 29 October 1931 in Marseille, † January 3, 2010 in Roquebrune -sur -Argens ) was a French cartoonist. He became known primarily through the detective stories to the journalists Rick Master (original Ric Hochet ) and the Funny Comic Chick Bill, for which he also designed the scenario.

Life and work

As Gascard was five years old, his family emigrated with him to Belgium. Heine's career began in 1947. During this time he met André -Paul Duchateau, with whom he later worked several times. From 1949 gas card drawings published in small magazines, in 1951 he began to work for the Tintin as an illustrator. His first short stories were published from 1952. The humorous Western series Chick Bill was begun in 1953; total were brought out of their 69 albums. From Ric Hochet, the Gas Card created in 1955, initially published only a few short stories; 1961 texted André -Paul Duchateau, and a series of 78 albums emerged. In the series Les 3 A, which was published in 1962-1967, he supported his former assistant Mittéï. In the years 1971 and 1972 own cartoons series was published under the title Tibetière in Tintin. Gas cards last comic series was Aldo Remy, which was directed at an adult audience and from 2006 onwards a total of three albums were released. The last album by Aldo Remy was not published until after his death.

More comics by Gascard were El Mocco le terrible 1954 and the series Le club des peur de rien, which was published 1958-1979.
