Tierp Municipality
Tierp is a municipality (Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Uppsala County and the historic province of Uppland. The main town of the municipality is Tierp.
Geography
Passing through the municipality, the European Route 4 and the railway line Gävle - Uppsala.
History
Early on, people discovered the iron resources in the community, so there are to visit some mining equipment today. Proved advantageous in this case the proximity to Dalalven since the hydropower was used to power the mine equipment.
In October 2007, the new road layout European Route 4 was opened. The course was so far by several smaller towns and thus was not really an interpreted for long-haul route. The new route is 78 km long and runs from Uppsala on Tierp until after Mehedeby.
