Tiffany (American singer)
Tiffany Renee Darwish ( born October 2, 1971 in Norwalk, California) is an American pop singer and actress. It was known from the summer of 1987 internationally with some teen pop hits.
Career
With their debut single I Think We're Alone Now Tiffany succeeded in the summer of 1987 at the age of almost 16 years of breakthrough. The song, written by Ritchie Cordell, a top 4 hit in the U.S. for Tommy James & The Shondells had been 20 years previously. Tiffany pop version reached in both the U.S. and UK # 1 on the charts. In the U.S., got the plate quadruple platinum.
The second single, Could've Been, written by Lois Blaisch, became a big hit, received in the U.S., in turn, multi-platinum and reached number 1 in the UK 4th place
Their debut album, Tiffany has also been the leader of the U.S. charts and tossed with I Saw Him Standing There, a cover version of the Beatles' I Saw Her Standing There, yet another top 10 hit from.
Even merely Launched in the fall of 1988 second album Hold an Old Friend's Hand could not continue the high-altitude flight. Although the single All This Time once again came in the top 10 but failed the album itself.
In the autumn of 1990, the third album New Inside flopped completely, it was with her career in the U.S. over first. From there she could only hold on the Asian market.
Only in the summer of 2000, she returned with new releases and albums. Her comeback album The Color of Silence was rated by critics of Billboard Magazine and the Rolling Stones very well. The American music channel VH1 beamed to the release of the album from a show about Tiffany's life. In addition, a revealing photo spread of her was published in the April 2002 edition of the American Playboy.
Mid-2007 appeared Tiffanys Album Just Me; in parallel, they released the dance single Higher, which made it to number 19 on the Billboard dance charts and her first Billboard success was for about 18 years.
TV appearances
In 2005 she participated in the British show Hit Me Baby One More Time part - the original format of the broadcast in Germany on ProSieben comeback show - and won the first season, so as to collect the final. There, she was beaten with their competitors Shakin 'Stevens. They also took part in the U.S. version of the show, where they lost in the first round against Arrested Development.
As an actress, she appeared in a few films and series episodes in appearance.
