Tilburg–Nijmegen railway

The railway Tilburg - Nijmegen, also Brabant Lijn or Zuidooster spoorlijn, is a railway line between Tilburg and Nijmegen. The railway is an important compound in the eastern Netherlands with a total length of about 66 kilometers.

History

On June 4, 1881, the entire route was opened one lane, today it is expanded to double track to the bridge over the Meuse at Ravenstein. The section between Tilburg and 's- Hertogenbosch was electrified on 4 August 1957 and the part between ' s- Hertogenbosch and Nijmegen followed on 22 September 1957. The section between 's- Hertogenbosch and Oss is the only one for the maximum speed of 140 kilometers per hour allowed. On the other sections it is 130 kilometers per hour. The route initially had 22 stations, of which only ten are in operation today.

Train services

Currently operating on the route the inter-city trains from Arnhem to Roosendaal and regional trains from Breda to Utrecht and 's-Hertogenbosch to Nijmegen in 30 -minute intervals.
