Tim Burke (biathlete)

Timothy " Tim " Burke ( born February 3, 1982 in Paul Smiths, Franklin County, New York) is an American biathlete.

Tim Burke starts for Lake Placid Biathlon and is trained by Per Nilsson and Armin Auchentaller. With the biathlon, who lives in Lake Placid athletes began in 1997. Since 2004 he is part of the U.S. national team and made his debut the same year in the World Cup in Ruhpolding ( 82 Sprint ). His first World Cup point he won the season opener 2006/ 07 in Östersund. In Hochfilzen he ran tenth in the sprint for the first time in the world's best. His best results to date in the World Cup reached Timothy Burke at the beginning of the season 2009/2010 in Ostersund. With No. 2 in singles and ranked 3 in the Sprint, he stood on the podium for the first time. On 20 December 2009 he took over as so far the only Americans the lead in the overall World Cup biathlon.

At the Olympic Winter Games in Turin in 2006, he joined in single to ( 57 ) Sprint ( 37 ) and tracking ( 38 ) and the season ( 9 ). Tim Burke took again in 2010 at the Olympic Winter Games in part and started in all races. His best result was the 18th place in the mass start. With the season he was ranked 13th Tim Burke took previously participated in eight World Championships. The outstanding result was about winning the silver medal in singles at the 2013 Nove Mesto, the first World Championship medal a U.S. biathlete since 1987.

Burke is dating former German biathlete Andrea Henkel.
