History
Tina Turns the Country On was taken when Tina Turner was still part of the Ike & Tina Turner Revue. Turner sings on the album covers of artists such as Kris Kristofferson, Bob Dylan, Olivia Newton-John, James Taylor and Dolly Parton. Although the album failed to reach the charts, but it was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category "Best R & B Vocal Performance Female".
The album was released on CD until now. However, various country songs are not only the actual record, was released from the recording sessions later. The title is a pun: Translated it can mean both " Tina, the country music " as well as " Tina makes the country to ".
