Todd Gill

Todd Sheldon Gill ( born November 9, 1965 in Cardinal, Ontario ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player and current coach. During his career he played for the Toronto Maple Leafs, San Jose Sharks, St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings, Phoenix Coyotes, Colorado Avalanche and Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League.

Career

Gill played in his time as a junior 1982-1985 Windsor Spitfires in the Ontario Hockey League. After the offensive defenseman in the NHL Entry Draft in 1984 was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the second round to 25th position, he played already in the season 1984/85 his first NHL game for the Maple Leafs. In the following years, the Canadians established in the squad of the team and this was twelve years faithful to the end of the 1995/96 season.

After the Maple Leafs during the NHL Entry Draft in 1996 sent him in exchange for Jamie Baker to the San Jose Sharks, Gill's odyssey began by the NHL. For the Sharks, he remained a total of two years in which he also was captain of the team. This was followed by engagements with the St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings, Phoenix Coyotes, in turn, the Detroit Red Wings, Colorado Avalanche and Chicago Blackhawks.

After a total of 19 NHL seasons, he trailed off at the Lusatian foxes in the 2003/04 season of his career in Germany. He had his best season 1992 /93, services of the Toronto Maple Leafs with 43 ​​points.

From the season 2006/ 07 he spent five seasons as head coach of the Brockville Braves in the Central Junior A Hockey League and was voted coach of the year 2007. For the 2011/12 season a commitment followed at the Kingston Frontenacs in the Ontario Hockey League, where he replaced Doug Gilmour in the position of head coach.
