Tom Vanhoudt

Tom Vanhoudt ( born July 28, 1972 in Diest ) is a former Belgian tennis player.

Life

Vanhoudt 1989 took part in the junior tournament at Wimbledon. In individual he failed in the first round, in a double he reached the side of his fellow countryman Filip Dewulf the second round. The following year he again took part in the junior competition of the tournament, but different both in single and in double out in the first round. In 1991 he became a professional tennis player, where he began his career successes all the men's doubles. Between 1992 and 2005 he won at the side of changing partners 27 doubles titles on the ATP Challenger Tour. His biggest success on the ATP World Tour, he celebrated 1993 at a tournament in Umag, his only ATP career title. The highest quotation in the tennis world ranking he reached in 1996 with position 203 in single and in 2001 with position 36 in doubles.

In the individual he was never able to qualify for one of the Grand Slam tournaments. In the doubles competition, he reached the quarter -finals of the Australian Open and Wimbledon. In the mixed competition he stood twice in the second round of Wimbledon.

Vanhoudt played 1991-2002 nine double appearances for the Belgian Davis Cup team. His record was 4 wins and 5 losses.
