Tomáš Zápotočný

Tomáš Zápotočný (born 13 September 1980 in Pribram ) is a Czech football player.

Career

Tomáš Zápotočný began playing football in his native town of Pribram. In the 2000 /01 season the defender was briefly loaned to ZD Milín, but played upon his return regularly in the first team. In the spring of 2002, he played on loan at Petra Drnovice.

In June 2002 Zápotočný moved to FC Slovan Liberec, where he played himself gradually into the starting XI and was among the top performers doing so, he has often been used in various positions. In the season 2005/ 06, in the Slovan Liberec won the championship title, Zápotočný was one of the best central defenders of the Gambrinus League. In addition, he was also team captain.

At 1-3 against Serbia on 16 August 2006 Zápotočný debuted in the Czech national team.

Zápotočný joined the 2008/09 season to the Turkish giants Beşiktaş Istanbul. There he became Turkish champion and cup winner. For the 2009/10 season he was loaned to Bursaspor and there was also a Turkish masters. In the summer of 2010, the Czech returned to Beşiktaş. In early 2011 moved to Sparta Prague Zápotočný.
