Tomasz Hajto

Tomasz Hajto ( born October 16, 1972 in Maków Podhalański, Poland ) is a former Polish footballer and football coach.

Club career

Player

He played from 1997 to 2005 201 times in the Bundesliga for MSV Duisburg, FC Schalke 04 and 1 FC Nuremberg after he moved to the Bundesliga Gornik Zabrze of. The MSV Duisburg he reached the final of the DFB-Pokal in 1998 and with Schalke 04 he won the DFB-Pokal in 2001 and the DFB Cup 2002.

Hajto stands out as defenders often uncompromising commitment; Hajto still holds the record for yellow cards in the Premier League: 16 pieces he got in a season; known to this day he is in the Bundesliga for its wide objections. 2005 moved Hajto for Southampton FC in the second English league. There, however, he could not assert himself and changed in the winter break to Derby County. In 2006 he then moved back to the Polish Ekstraklasa for Łódzki KS. 2007 signed Hajto Gornik Zabrze in before his contract was there disbanded in the winter of 2008 and he moved to league rival Łódzki KS again in the New Year.

Coach

2011 Hajto player coach at unterklassigen Polish club LUKS Gomunice, where his son Mateusz (* 1993) was played. Since early 2012, he was with Dariusz Dźwigała Coach of Jagiellonia Białystok. Because of unresolved issues, whether Hajtos licenses entitle him to train in the Ekstraklasa, a long-term cooperation was yet unclear. On 10 February 2012, the Polish Football Association announced that Hajto and Dźwigała get the coaching licenses that entitle them to train in the Ekstraklasa. The licenses were first end of 2012. Early January 2013 both licenses were renewed by the Polish Association for one year. In May 2013 Hajto announced that he would leave Jagiellonia Białystok end of the season 2012/13.

National

Tomasz Hajto played between 1996 and 2005 a total of 62 times for the Polish national football team. With Poland, he took part in Japan and South Korea at the 2002 World Cup.
