Torcuato di Tella University

The Universidad Torcuato Di Tella - UTDT is a private non-profit foundation university in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

History

It was formed in 1991 from the Institute Torcuato di Tella, which was founded in the 1950s as an institute for contemporary art, and later as a kind of think tank of the industrialist group " di Tella ". The university is located in the Belgrano neighborhood north of the city. In the faculties of the University about 2500 students are enrolled. The focus of the University is located in the social sciences (history, political science, international relations, philosophy, education ) as well as law and economics. 2006 Faculty of Architecture was founded. The university offers 20 postgraduate programs. The University Library was founded in 1958 as part of the Di Tella Institute and one of the most important libraries in the social sciences in Latin America.

The University employs 72 ​​professors and their teaching regularly visiting professors from American universities such as Berkeley, John Hoppkins, Harvard, Chicago. The UTDT offers 50 exchange programs with universities in Europe, North America, South America, Australia, Africa and Asia. The construction of a new campus is planned.

Due to the liberalization wave of the 1990s in Argentina due to the " Washington Consens " alternated professors of state universities to the UTDT.

In various rankings, particularly in the Masterdstudiengängen: Politics, International Relations and Economics ( MBA / Master of Economics ) finished the UTDT top places in Latin America.
