Töss Valley

The Tösstal is a region in the east of the canton of Zurich in Switzerland. It was formed by the river Töss and divided into two parts, which are separated by the city of Winterthur: Lower Tösstal west of Winterthur and Upper Tösstal southeast of the city. History

1876 ​​Tösstal railway was completed, linking the cities of Winterthur and Rapperswil. The driving force for the realization was the Swiss railway king and builder of Jungfraujochbahn Adolf Guyer-Zeller. The steam railway was one of the last in Switzerland still in operation until 1956.
