Towhidi Tabari

Towhidi Tabari (Persian توحیدی طبری, Tawhidi Al -Tabari Arab توحیدی الطبری; Birth Name: Ali Naghi Towhidi; born June 15, 1964 in Babol, Māzandarān ) is an Iranian calligrapher, painter and Persian ornaments painter.

He currently lives in Paris, France. He is a member of the Association of Iranian Calligraphers, the International Federation of Arts UNESCO, the Artist's House in France and the Centre of Plastic Arts of the Ministry of Culture in Iran.

Biography

At the age of fourteen he began in Babol, in Mohammad Zaman Mehdi Fallah Moghadam Ferasat and to learn calligraphy. At nineteen, he moved to Tehran to study at the Institute of Iranian calligraphers at the Masters Gholam Hossein Amirkhani and Yadollah Kaboli Khansari, where he earned the title in calligraphy; at the same time he learned the fine arts, traditional Iranian art and graphic design. Towhidi Tabari spent six years working in the graphic design department at the Iranian national airline industry as chief calligrapher and designer. For one year he taught at the Jahad Daneshgahi ( branch of the University of Tehran ) and two years at the Osweh High School in Tehran.

Towhidi Tabari is a specialist of Nasta ` liq and Shekasteh styles.

Exhibitions

A world-renowned calligrapher; He has given more than 50 solo exhibitions in numerous American, European and Asian countries, both participated in more than a hundred group exhibitions.

Lessons

Since the founding of the first Persian Calligraphy and Illumination school in France in April 2002 in the premises of the Iranian Cultural Centre in Paris and the Town Hall of Asnières in cooperation with the SITAR Association, more than 300 students have taken courses. The top level has been achieved by some of the first graduates of this school, has allowed them to take part in exhibitions at the Cultural Center of Iran in November 2003 and in the auditorium of Saint Germain in October 2004. The school is open to all students who wish to attend these courses, for a period of eleven weeks, or a full training over several years. About twenty students who are regularly followed the course since the school's founding, have already received their diploma.
