The Transalai chain; at the forefront of Kysylsu River and the Alai valley

The Transalai chain ( Kyrgyz Чоң Алай кырка тоосу ) is a high mountain range in the north of the Pamir Mountains. , Which runs along the border between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. The extreme eastern part of the mountain range extends into over the border with the People's Republic of China.

The mountain range has a length of 240 km. It extends between the traversed by Kysylsu Alai valley in the north and the valley of the Muksu in the south. The northern flank of the Eastern Transalai is drained by the Kisilsu, the southern flank of Markansu.

The Transalaikette is divided by the two passports Tersagar and Kyzyl -Art into three sections. In the central portion lies the highest peak of Transalai, the 7134 m high Peak Lenin.

From Transalae branches in the central portion Zulumart the chain to the south. Southeast is the Sarikol chain, the chain southwest of the Academy of Sciences.
