Třebíz

Třebíz ( German Weissenthurm ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers north-west of Slany and belongs to Okres Kladno.

Geography

Třebíz is located in the Central Bohemian plateau in the headwaters of Dřínovský creek. South-west rises the plateau "Well Drahách " (348 m).

Neighboring towns are Klobuky and Kobylníky in the north, Palecek and Stradonice in the northeast, Dřínov, Neprobylice and Kutrovice in the east, in the southeast Kvílice, Plchov in the south, and Pozdeň Lísky the southwest, Hořešovice in the west and Úherce in the northwest.

History

Třebíz was first documented in 1318. In the village there was a fortress, which became extinct after 1415.

1848 Třebíz became an independent municipality in the district of Slany. Since 1961 the area has been acknowledged Okres Kladno. The center of the town was declared a rural conservation area. Parts of Třebíz were remodeled in the years 1969 to 1975 to an open air museum.
