Trenton is a city and also the county seat of Gilchrist County in the U.S. state of Florida with 1,999 inhabitants ( 2010).

Trenton is located about 150 km south-west of Jacksonville.
Demographics
According to the 2010 census, the then 1,999 inhabitants distributed in 786 households. The population density was 298.4 inh. / Km ². 74.2 % of the population were white, 17.6 % African American, 0.6 % Native American and 0.6 % Asian Americans. 4.3% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.8% in different ethnic groups. 7.9% of the population were Hispanic or Latino.
In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 24.7 % of all households lived in 44.2 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 71.6 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.74 persons and the average family size is 3.15 people.
31.4 % of the population were younger than 20 years, 27.3 % were 20-39 years old, 21.5% were 40-59 years old and 20.3 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 32 years. 46.0 % of the population were male and 54.0 % female.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 97.57 % of the population spoke Spanish 2.14% and 0.29 % had a different mother tongue.
