Trnová (Prague-West District)

Trnová ( German Trnowa, 1939-45 Tirnau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located 19 kilometers south of the center of Prague and is part of the Okres Praha- západ.

Geography

Trnová is on the left above the valley of the Vltava River in the northeastern foothills of the Brdská Highlands. To the north rises the Kopanina (411 m ) in the east of Chlumík (348 m ) southwest of the Vrsky (361 m) and in the northwest of Kámen (414 m). Located northwest of the village runs the highway R 4 between Zbraslav and Mníšek pod Brd. In the east, the railway line Dobříš - Praha- Modřany performs the Vltava.

Neighboring towns are Vrané nad Vltavou, Nad Statkem and Skochovice in the northeast, Leznice, Nová Březova and Březova in the east, Měchenice, Zástrovká, Masojídka, Serpina, Račany and Davle the southeast, Sloupsko, Hvozdnice, Spálený Mlýn and čtvrť Svatopluka Čecha in the south, Klínec, Varadov, Mlýnec and Na Homolce the southwest, V Remízku, Potoky, Nový Dvůr and Černolice in the west and Všenory and Jíloviště in the northwest.

History

The village Trnová was created in 1342 in the forest rubeta by the Vladiken Pesek and Oldrich of Kosoř on behalf of the pen Břevnov. The Ortgründern was granted the right to establish a Kretschams, a forge, a Bader house and a mill as well as laying the foundation stone for the church. In 1359 the church was first mentioned as a parish church. Because of the remoteness of the other goods, the pen sold the estate Trnová later. Among its owners was, inter alia Udalrich Zajíc Hasenburg and Waldeck, of the property to the Augustinian Monastery of St.. Benigna gave. The Augustinian exchanged Trnová later against the goods and Praskoles Sedletz. As the owner then took turns various citizens of Prague. At the beginning of the 15th century the manor of the parish church of St.. Giles in Prague's Old Town and Wenceslas from 1614 Wilhelm von Raupowa. In 1845 the Good Trnowa included a floor space of 766 square fathoms yoke 315, which belonged to all the authorities. The subjects were Emphytheuten and lived from day laborers work and trades. The only village of the goods was the same village Trnowa. This consisted of 26 houses with 276 inhabitants, including four Jewish families. Under regal patronage the parish church stood for hl. Offsides were in the Vltava river, the inn Lesnitz ( Leznice ), which served as a retreat house for sailors as well as the mill Holubow ( Holubovský Mlýn ) and the Stehliker Mühler with a sawmill. For parish Trnowa were no other places besides the parish village. Until the mid-19th century Trnowa was the official village of the same material and at the same time for the feud Čisowitz.

After the abolition of patrimonial Trnová formed in 1850 a district of the municipality in the district Jíloviště Smíchov and judicial district Zbraslav. In 1860, the Caroline Thaler machine manufacturer Vincenç Danek bought it out, and had the castle in the style of Romanticism remodel. After the completion of the renovation Danek 1864 sold the estate Trnová and purchased the larger castle Tloskov. At the subsequent owners of the goods belonged to Maximilian crowd Blacksmith of Eagle Trust, who ran a brewery in the castle until 1895. At the beginning of the 20th century acquired Karel Košťál the Good Trnová. In 1905 there were in Trnová a police station and a two-class school. Václav mogres, who had purchased the estate on August 10, 1907, forced the cultivation of Getrieide and dairy farming.

Trnová broke up in 1920 by Jíloviště off and formed its own community. 1927, the village was the Okres Praha- venkov, 1942 the Okres Praha- venkov -jih and assigned 1949 Okres Praha- jih. In 1932 lived in Trnová with Holubovský Mlýn 216 people. 1935 began construction of the dam in Moldova Vrané. Trnová was incorporated in 1960 after Jíloviště and at the same time associated with the Okres Praha- západ. On November 24, 1990, Trnová broke again from Jíloviště.

Since the 1990s the village was extended to the south-west and towards the west. In addition to single-family homes also several villas created in the business Baroque ( podnikatelské baroko ).

Attractions

  • Holy Spirit Church, built in the mid 14th century. It was remodeled Baroque around 1720. On the north side of the original Gothic portal is walled. In the church there is a tomb of Škroup family.
  • Castle Trnová, originally Baroque building was erected in the second half of the 18th century for Christian Paulin Josef Ritter von Gfässer instead of a Domikanerherberge. Vincenç Danek had the building 1860-1864 remodel neo-Baroque. Here, the clock tower and corner towers originated with buttress. In 1907, the castle of the mogres family belonged. After nationalization in 1948, it initially served as an archive and storage, and later in a training center for horse breeders and riders was established. After the Velvet Revolution, which devastated castle and estate was restituted to the mogres family. In 1994 the castle was declared a national cultural monument. In 2006, the former Minister Ivan Pilip bought with his wife, Lucie the castle and let it clean up to 2008. It now serves as a hotel and conference center and residence of the Pilip family.

Personalities

  • František Škroup (1801-1862), the composer was in Trnová often a guest at the priest, and later on the estate of his brother Václav. One of his favorite places was the view over the Vltava Kazatelna, which is now named after him as Škroupova vyhlídka. Local tradition has Škroup there to have written the melody to the song Kde domov můj.
  • Ema Destinová (1878-1930), the soprano was 1907-1911 regular guest at Václav mogres, the reserved her a wing of the castle. For the artist, he organized hunts and excursions, in which she made with unusual trouser suits for attention.
