Trollheimen called a mountain landscape in central Norway between Nordmøre in the north of Fylke Møre og Romsdal and Sør-Trøndelag Fylke. The area is also known as " the land of the trolls " and is bounded on the north by Surnadal and Rindal, Orkdal and Dovrebahn in the east, Sunndal in the south and the Western Fjords.

History

Troll homes was probably the area in Norway, the first after the last ice age was free of ice. There are human products that are up to 9000 years old, showing that early humans began to settle here. The basic food usually formed Rene and moose. Today the area mainly for skiing and mountain sports is known.

The name was suggested by the journalist and politician Håkon Løken in the 1880s and has prevailed.

Attractions

Troll homes consists of a massif of peaks over 1600 m. It is well served with accommodation and Wegnetzen. The Ski and climbing paradise is crossed by two major valleys, the Surnadal and the further south gelegenem Sunndal. Between these two valleys is the small Todalfjord.
