Trzebiechów, Zielona Góra County

Trzebiechów ( German Trebschen ) is a village in the Lubusz Voivodeship powiat Zielonogórski and seat of the municipality of the same country. It is located in the glacial valley of the Oder about 40 km northeast of Zielona Góra voivodship.

History

Probably existing since the 13th century Place was from the 15th to the mid-18th century in the possession of the noble family originating from Bohemia by Troschke. 1707 Trebschen received its town charter. In the 18th century it flourished as the center of cloth production. From that benefited over the years but more and more the neighboring towns, the importance of Trebschen went back and it lost its charter in 1870 again. After 1900, on the initiative of Princess Alexandra Maria Reuss spa facilities like the sanatorium, which was available since 1920 with tuberculosis. 1945 marched the Red Army, the German population was expelled. As Trzebiechów The place was part of Poland.

Attractions

The city lies essentially follows a north -south axis. At the southern end is the classical parish church, at the northern end of the castle area with landscaped parks since 1670.

  • In the Baroque style remodeled Renaissance castle, formerly owned by the Prince of Reuss
  • Late Classicist Assumption Church from 1840
  • Sanatorium (1903-1905) with a designed by Henry van de Velde interior decoration in Art Nouveau style, the only work of the Belgian interior designers in today's Poland
