Tuncel Kurtiz

Tuncel Tayanç Kurtiz ( born 1 February 1936 in Bahçecik, Kocaeli, † September 27, 2013 in Istanbul) was a Turkish film and theater actor and director who has taken part in numerous international productions.

Life

Childhood and youth spent Kurtiz due to the changing work places his father in places like Kırıkkale, Reşadiye, Kandıra, Posof, Ayvalik, Michigan, Detroit, New York, Silifke, Darbogaz and Istanbul. As Kurtiz was 14 years old, the family settled in Edremit. The Gymnasium visited Kurtiz in Istanbul. At the university he met in 1957, his later film Yılmaz Güney partner know.

Kurtiz was found dead in his apartment in Istanbul's Beşiktaş on 27 September 2013. On September 29, Kurtiz was buried in a cemetery near Edremit in the province of Balıkesir. He was married to Mened Kurtiz.

In theaters

Starting in 1958, was the son of a civil servant and a teacher who had come to study in Istanbul, seen on various public and private Istanbul stages. In later stages of his theater and film career, he played at the Gothenburg City Theatre and the Royal Theater Stockholm, at the Berlin theater and the city theaters Frankfurt am Main, Hamburg and at the Peter Brook Shakespeare Royal Theatre in England. In Germany Kurtiz has also worked as a director in the early German -Turkish theater project of the Berlin theater Turkish ensemble.

In the film

His first film role was in the 1964 Turkish film Kurtiz Seytanin Uşakları ( The servants of the devil ). Kurtiz was a friend since his studies and military time with Yılmaz Güney and played in a number of his films with. From Sweden from the actor turned himself in 1978 a documentary on the so-called guest workers route that was referred to in 1985 as E 5, and inter alia Turkish migrants before flights became more affordable, combined with their home. As an actor Kurtiz was out in Turkish and German film productions to be seen in Swedish, Dutch, Italian, French, British, Israeli and Indian, in which he played mostly in the local language.

In his most recent role in the movie Serial series he played the spiritual judge Mehmed Efendi Ebussuud.
